A lovely piece of writing has just been published about Tif’s series “On Maltby St 2011” over on Spitalfields life blog, including Tif explaining in detail about the subjects from the series.

Nigel Parry has been kindly asked to run a workshop this year at the Palm Springs Photo festival, which has a fantastic line up of photographers giving talks, seminars, and workshops. Nigel will be holding a 4 day workshop sometime between March 31st & April 6th, more news as and when we know what dates he will be in attendance.
Pete has kindly sent Sue Allatt HQ some more images from his trip to China for his latest work with Land Rover.
His set up for one of the shots is filled with triggers, cameras, and a very sophisticated one man tent to control all of the 25 cameras needed for the shot:

Spiros is also having a refresh of his blog, including some new posts about what he’s been up to, including this picture of a Rhesus monkey called Mary.
See this and other blog posts here.
Spiros has had a good spruce of his website, which includes lots of new and unseen work, including these two portraits from a new series he is currently embarking upon:

“I have often dreamed of finding a perfect place to do my food shopping. A place far from the strip-light nightmare of the supermarket: somewhere that offers the best of a farmer’s market with a taste of something from further afield. A slightly secret and hidden place, where supply goes with the ebb and flow of the seasons, where there is a constantly evolving group of traders bringing things to tempt and delight”
Nigel Slater’s description of the Saturday morning scene in and around Maltby Street, near London’s Tower Bridge, resonates with my own experience of it. Being lucky enough to live just around the corner, I have been a regular there since its inception and have enjoyed all that it offers including its seasonal ebb and flow.
It is this group of traders, these neighbours and friends, who, over the Saturday mornings of 2011, became the subject of these photographs. I thank them all for the generous gift of their time and for the pleasure of collaborating to make these pictures.
They have all been shot in natural light on a Sinar 5×4 camera using the now irreplaceable Polaroid Type 55 film. Due to my limited supply of this precious film I restricted myself to no more than two sheets per person.
As I print them, I will post the results over the coming weeks.

Tif’s new project is now available to view on a blog created solely for the project, this is a prelude for an exhibition that will be taking place in spring.

You can view more of the work from the project here.
Pete is currently shooting the a campaign for Land Rover, and is now enduring his signature “hard day in the office” with Camels, Donkeys, Sand, and some brand new 4×4’s in the Gobi desert, China.
Here are some behind the scenes shots:

You would think it would be warm, but its actually -15!
We’re back! And better than ever. Sue Allatt HQ have had their well deserved time off, and now, we are all back to work, making pictures, tea, coffee, picking up copious amounts of chocolate bars for shoots, etc.
Our first blog post of the year comes from Chris Floyd, who has just had a few copies of “Wallpaper Tweetlife” delivered. Chris chris was commissioned by Christie’s & Wallpaper* off the back of his 140 Characters project he recently exhibited. Chris and his team built a pop up studio, for 4 days photographed artists, dealers, buyers and visitors. The book is a record of those that passed through the doors over that long weekend period.

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Laure and Sarah to the agency.
Laure et Sarah are “images makers”. In this sense that they make the photographs properly theirs, either by creating the subject and the “scenery”, either by intervening on the prints, reworking the lights, the textures, in order to disrupt the reading of the image and move towards pictorial photography. We love the girls variety of portraits, still life and landscape work, coupled with the the photographs having an almost “painted” look. Heres a few pictures that we love:

For more information or to request Laure and Sarah’s portfolio, please contact Sue or Rosie here
Well we have waited, and waited, and waited a little bit more for Pete to get in touch with us whilst out in the Antarctic.
Somehow, he managed to find the time to drop us an email with what he’s been up to so far, which went along the lines of “Bloody penguins everywhere, seals, and icebergs….”.
Today, we finally got what we waited so long for. Some pictures!
Worth the wait, here are some pictures so far from Pete’s journey:

Last night Sue and the team went down to the British travel awards at the RIBA, where Pete, who is currently in the Antarctic, was up for the prestigious award of “Travel Photographer of the year 2011”
We are thrilled to announce that Pete won the award! He was up against some tough competition, so we are absolutely ecstatic that he won. Well done Pete!
Here are some of the images that helped him win the award:

Love this new editorial by Tif, the vintage theme runs so well, even through to the penguin book!

Pete Seawards Antarctic journey has got off to a flying start, he has somehow made contact with us, and he’s kindly sent us this photo from his stop off in the Falklands:

Tif Hunters two pieces of work featured in Candy magazine:

A very big change of scenery for Pete the next month. He left the UK yesterday to join a 20 day journey around the Antarctic for a commemorative exploration for one of the great Polar explorers of the 20th century; Frank Wild, to fulfil his dying wish. Pete has been invited aboard the Akademik Ioffe to make pictures of this voyage.
The explorers last wish to be buried in South Georgia beside Shackleton, his ‘boss’ and loyal friend, unfortunately this never materialised due to the outbreak of WWII a week after his death. Now, after 7 years of research, his ashes have been obtained and will be scattered during a ceremony at the whaler’s graveyard in Grytviken, South Georgia.

Pete will be aboard this humungous beast, and will be sending pictures back -somehow to Sue Allatt HQ, where we will update on the progress and show you some of Pete’s images as and when they come through. Good luck Pete and I hope you packed your thermal pants.
Sue’s regular travels have led her to discover some recent campaigns that our photographers have shot!
Here we have Tif’s Standard Life investments campaign, seen this a few times around London and at the airport:

And here we have Pete’s shot for Canon, its all going on at the moment!

Tif’s new watch editorial for The Quarterly magazine.
The magazine was running an Italian theme throughout all of its current issue, and Tif’s execution and concept fit within the issue beautifully.

Chris Floyd for a Photo editor:
Chris has been speaking to Rob Haggart aka A Photo Editor about his recent videos he’s made for Mr Porter.
Check out his video from the series with David Macklovitch from Chromeo, lovely bit of jib work.
Check out Chris’s Vimeo for more “The way I dress” videos, and his other short works.

Now you don’t:
