Back to work!

We’re back! And better than ever. Sue Allatt HQ have had their well deserved time off, and now, we are all back to work, making pictures, tea, coffee, picking up copious amounts of chocolate bars for shoots, etc.

Our first blog post of the year comes from Chris Floyd, who has just had a few copies of “Wallpaper Tweetlife” delivered. Chris chris was commissioned by Christie’s & Wallpaper* off the back of his 140 Characters project he recently exhibited. Chris and his team built a pop up studio, for 4 days photographed artists, dealers, buyers and visitors. The book is a record of those that passed through the doors over that long weekend period.

Introducing….Laure et Sarah

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Laure and Sarah to the agency.

Laure et Sarah are “images makers”. In this sense that they make the photographs properly theirs, either by creating the subject and the “scenery”, either by intervening on the prints, reworking the lights, the textures, in order to disrupt the reading of the image and move towards pictorial photography. We love the girls variety of portraits, still life and landscape work, coupled with the the photographs having an almost “painted” look. Heres a few pictures that we love:

Pete Seaward in the Antarctic….Part 1

Well we have waited, and waited, and waited a little bit more for Pete to get in touch with us whilst out in the Antarctic.

Somehow, he managed to find the time to drop us an email with what he’s been up to so far, which went along the lines of “Bloody penguins everywhere, seals, and icebergs….”.

Today, we finally got what we waited so long for. Some pictures!

Worth the wait, here are some pictures so far from Pete’s journey:

Pete Seaward wins travel photographer of the year!!

Last night Sue and the team went down to the British travel awards at the RIBA, where Pete, who is currently in the Antarctic, was up for the prestigious award of “Travel Photographer of the year 2011”

We are thrilled to announce that Pete won the award! He was up against some tough competition, so we are absolutely ecstatic that he won. Well done Pete!

Here are some of the images that helped him win the award:

Tif Hunter for Out There Magazine

Love this new editorial by Tif, the vintage theme runs so well, even through to the penguin book!

Pete’s Antarctic stop off….

Pete Seawards Antarctic journey has got off to a flying start, he has somehow made contact with us, and he’s kindly sent us this photo from his stop off in the Falklands:

Pete Seaward in the Antarctic.

A very big change of scenery for Pete the next month. He left the UK yesterday to join a 20 day journey around the Antarctic for a commemorative exploration for one of the great Polar explorers of the 20th century; Frank Wild, to fulfil his dying wish. Pete has been invited aboard the Akademik Ioffe to make pictures of this voyage.

The explorers last wish to be buried in South Georgia beside Shackleton, his ‘boss’ and loyal friend, unfortunately this never materialised due to the outbreak of WWII a week after his death. Now, after 7 years of research, his ashes have been obtained and will be scattered during a ceremony at the whaler’s graveyard in Grytviken, South Georgia.

Pete will be aboard this humungous beast, and will be sending pictures back -somehow to Sue Allatt HQ, where we will update on the progress and show you some of Pete’s images as and when they come through. Good luck Pete and I hope you packed your thermal pants.

Out and about.

Sue’s regular travels have led her to discover some recent campaigns that our photographers have shot!

Here we have Tif’s Standard Life investments campaign, seen this a few times around London and at the airport:

And here we have Pete’s shot for Canon, its all going on at the moment!

Tif Hunter for the Quarterly

Tif’s new watch editorial for The Quarterly magazine.

The magazine was running an Italian theme throughout all of its current issue, and Tif’s execution and concept fit within the issue beautifully.

Chris Floyd for a Photo editor:

Chris has been speaking to Rob Haggart aka A Photo Editor about his recent videos he’s made for Mr Porter.

Check out his video from the series with David Macklovitch from Chromeo, lovely bit of jib work.

Check out Chris’s Vimeo for more “The way I dress” videos, and his other short works.

Over the Summer Harry went on tour with Bombay Bicycle Club in the US, whilst also shooting his new project about Brooklyn.

Here are some previews from the project, with more to hopefully come soon:

Spotted: Pete’s new Cathay Pacific campaign

Pete’s new campaign for Cathay Pacific has been spotted in Hong Kong. Look at the size of that bus stop poster! Huge.

Pete Seaward out and about as usual.

Pete’s been having a “hard day in the office” shooting AYANA’s 2012 campaign for their hotel and spa in Bali. Little bit jealous of the weather.

Nice hat:

Sneaky preview:
